Today, you can write about whatever you what — but your post must include, in whatever role you see fit, a cat, a bowl of soup, and a beach towel.
I’m at my desk, waiting for the Weekly Photo Challenge to arrive, poised like a cat to pounce. Here I am ready to search through my photos and get something posted…. it always helps to get a good position on the list.
It’s a bit late. Hmm, that sometimes happens. I wait. Eventually I go downstairs and start to get my dinner ready. It’s 6.15pm here in France. First course, gazpacho…. just right for the warmish day. It’s a bought one, so I zush it up with a bit of pepper. Back to the desk. No Challenge yet.
Downstairs again. I start cooking. I notice there’s a real cat at the kitchen door…. my old mate Cousin Cat. ‘Anything going?’
There certainly is Dude! ‘Yeah mate, leftover beef curry alright?’
I put the scraps on a plastic lid and park it outside. There’s plenty there, Mother Cat turns up too. I get one clean lid in about five minutes.
Back upstairs, dinner in hand, no Challenge. Hmm and double hmm……. maybe my computer is not doing the biz today. Nope, emails are coming in.It is Friday, isnt it? I check the site of a fellow blogger….. confirmed, there’s no Challenge yet. Triple hmm….
I feel all washed up, like I’m sitting in my bathers on a beach towel in the middle of the Gobi Desert. It feels wrong. The tide has not come in, I cant even see the sea.
I’m not alone… bloggers of many nations sit bemused, beached and becalmed. Whatever will we do now?
