Words, Images and The Occasional Noise

A Fascinating Carpet

Changing colors, dropping temperatures, pumpkin spice lattes: do these mainstays of Fall fill your heart with warmth — or with dread?

In Europe we say ‘autumn’ but I think that ‘fall’ is a much more evocative word.  It’s a much older term.

I’ve heard it said that a good gardener plans as much for the autumn as for the summer. Given the explosion of colours, who can regret a season such as this? The gardens outside my window are still green, but soon I will have a beautiful carpet to walk on.
